The latest TrustWorks upgrade is now online, with the following enhancements for private communities:
Ask Multiple Users
What to do when your question is urgent, and there are several members of your trusted community who can all answer? Until now, TrustWorks only allowed asking a single user at a time… Now the option is available for asking up to five users simultaneously, and having them either Answer Individually or Answer as a Group Discussion. We expect this will get more people involved in new communities, and certainly result in a faster average response time for questions asked.
Fewer Emails
In response to user feedback, we have reduced the number of emails members receive, in the following ways:
Status Updates from only one group at a time
Previously, every Monday each user would receive an update for every group or sub-group where they have a membership or an invitation; now only one group is selected at random, and that’s the only update emailed.
No More Wednesday “Value Emails”
Previously, we sent Status updates on Mondays, and then for each of the first 6 weeks a different email went out with a graphic and an explanation of one of the reasons users find TrustWorks a valuable part of their lives. In response to requests to reduce the traffic, we now only send emails on Mondays — for the first 3 months they alternate between Status Updates and Value Emails. After the series of 6 Value Emails has been sent then communication is only every two weeks.
Option to Switch to Monthly or Response-Only
On the “Contact Info” page, users can further reduce the quantity of emails by choosing to be notified only once per month, or never unless it relates to a direct inquiry.
Domain-Level Privacy for Clubs
Previously, there were three types of groups available on TrustWorks: Public Groups (SIGs), which appear on a list visible to all users, and anyone can join; Corporate Groups, which offer the highest level of privacy, and can only be joined if an administrator puts the user’s email address on a private list; and Semi-Private Clubs, which have a secret URL and can be joined by anyone who knows where to go.
The New Type is a Domain-Level Group, which is like a Club but only allows members to join if they have an email address at a specific domain (or a list of domains). For instance, a corporate alliance group might provide a list of 10 companies that are members, and then the club can be accessed only be people who have an email address @ one of those member companies.
Merging Accounts
Sometimes a user might receive an invitation at their “work” email address, and then register using their “home” email address. In those cases, repeated invitations would continue arriving at the work address. We have added a feature to the registration system which allows users to merge those accounts, saying “hey, that account over there… is me!” So this problem is now solved.
Excellent!
Thank you for the improvements!!!
